ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 1, 2010) -- Snow Chief Stakes winner Compari ran his victory streak to four by taking Friday�s $100,000 Sensational Star Stakes for California-breds and California-sired on the Santa Anita hillside turf course.

The favored Compari is by Redattore, out of the Dixieland Band mare Southern Charm, was bred by owners Harris Farms, Don Valpredo and John Nicoletti, was foaled at Harris Farms and is trained by Martin Jones.

"He�s a really nice horse, a really competitive horse," said Jones. "He�s 110 percent race horse. He runs long, short, turf, dirt. It�s rare to get this kind of horse . . . We�re looking at the Sunshine Millions (next on Jan. 30). We�ll see how he comes out of this race, but that will be the tentative game plan."

Compari has four wins in five starts, earnings of $272,640 and was coming off a win in a Dec. 17 allowance.

Compari ran the 6 � furlongs on turf in 1:12.42 and won by two lengths at odds of 6-5 in a field of six. Enriched, Lava Man�s half-brother, was second and Live Sunday�s third.
