California Stallion Bedford Falls Represented By His First Foal

First Bedford Falls Foal

SANGER, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2010) -- The first foal by the California-based stallion Bedford Falls was born on January 29 at Harris Farms near Coalinga, California.

The colt is out of the winning Cee�s Tizzy mare Nora Ellen, a half-sister to the dam of Grade 3 winner Lucky J. H. ($632,065). Nora Ellen�s 2008 foal, Silverada, was the second-highest-priced filly sold at the 2009 Northern California Yearling Sale last August.

Bedford Falls is a multiple winner by Forestry who stands at Poplar Meadows in Sanger, California. The 7-year-old stallion, who sold for $1.1 million at the 2004 Keeneland September Yearling Sale and retired to stud at Poplar Meadows in 2009, is out of the winning Affirmed mare Christmas in Aiken. He is a half-brother to the multiple Grade 1-winning sire Harlan�s Holiday, whose three crops to race have earned $9.7 million and include 2007 CashCall Futurity (G1) winner Into Mischief.

Bedford Falls� 2010 fee is $2,500, live foal guarantee. His foals are eligible for a $125,000 breeding and ownership incentive program, which was announced last month.
