Compari Streak Now Five

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2010) -- Compare ran his win streak to five by taking Sunday�s $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes at Santa Anita.

Compari is by Redattore, out of the Dixieland Band mare Southern Charm, was bred by owners Harris Farms, Don Valpredo and John Nicoletti, was foaled at Harris Farms and is trained by Martin Jones.

He has five wins in six starts, earnings of $332,640 and was coming off a win in the Jan. 1 Sensational Star.

Compari ran the mile on a 'good' turf course in 1:35.00 and won by 3 � lengths as the 6-5 favorite in the field of seven. Enriched was second and Swift Winds third.

"The horse has already won going a mile and an eighth, so I think he�ll go further," said trainer Marty Jones, who indicated that Compari might try Grade II competition next. He mentioned the $150,000 Arcadia Handicap at one mile on turf on April 3 as a consideration.
