INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 28, 2012) – In her second try for this race, Warren’s Jitterbug rallied in deep stretch to win Saturday’s $125,000 B. Thoughtful Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares on the Gold Rush XIII card at Hollywood Park.
Warren’s Jitterbug is by Affirmative, out of the Peaks and Valleys mare Jitterbug Jan, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren, is trained by Jorge Gutierrez and was ridden by Rafael Bejarano. It was the second win on the card for Warren and Gutierrez.
She has four wins in 24 starts, earnings of $359,744 and was making her first start since a third in an Oct. 22 optional claimer. She was fifth in this race last year.
Warren’s Jitterbug ran the 7 ½ furlongs in 1:31.44 and won by a half-length at odds of 11-1. Going for a Spin closed for second and Sister Kate was third.
