INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 23, 2011) – Odds-on favorite Ultra Blend rallied past pacesetter Lady Railrider in deep stretch to win Saturday’s $125,000 B. Thoughtful Stakes for fillies and mares on the California Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.
Ultra Blend is by Richly Blended, out of the Desert Classic mare Ankha, was bred by BnD Chase Thoroughbreds and Elven Adams, is owned by Nels Anderson and trained by Art Sherman. Joel Rosario was the jockey.
She has nine wins in 20 starts, earnings of $535,646 and was coming off a win in the Feb. 26 Valentine’s Dancer.
She ran the 7 ½ furlongs in 1:30.40 and won by a length at odds of 4-5. Lady Railrider was second and West Rule was third in the field of seven.
