$125,000 Tiznow Stakes AMAZOMBIE

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 23, 2011) – Even-money favorite Amazombie turned back the challenge of Quick Enough turning for home and drew off to win Saturday’s $125,000 Tiznow Stakes for California-breds on the Gold Rush Card at Hollywood Park.

Amazombie is by Northern Afleet, out of the In Excess mare Wilshe Amaze, was bred by Gregg Anderson, is owned by Thomas Sanford and William Spawr and trained by Spawr. Joel Rosario was the jockey.

The Barretts purchase has eight wins in 18 starts, earnings of $493,708 and was coming off a win in the Apr. 3 Potrero Grande. He ran the 7 ½ furlongs in 1:29.06 and won by three lengths.

Quick Enough was second and Mobilized was third.
