$150,000 Tiznow Stakes FANTASY FREE

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2010) – Reformed claimer Fantasy Free got a rail-skimming ride around the turn and went on to win Saturday’s $150,000 Tiznow Stakes on the Gold Rush XI card at Hollywood Park.

Fantasy Free is by Free House, out of the Saint Ballado mare Cat Ballado, was bred by Katy Cowan, is owned by Roddy Valente, is trained by A.C. Avila and was ridden by Omar Berrio. He was claimed by Valente for $22,500, the fifth time he had been claimed.

He has eight wins in 41 starts, earnings of $299,884 and was coming off a second in a Mar. 28 optional claimer. This was his first stakes race in more than two years.

Fantasy Free ran the 7 ½ furlongs in 1:28.76 and won by one-half length at odds of 10-1. Besdressed closed for second and Mobilized was third.
