Amazombie Entered for Sprint Repeat

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2012) – California-bred defending champion Amazombie drew post position No. 11 for Saturday’s $1.5 million Grade I Xpressbet Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Santa Anita.

Amazombie is by Northern Afleet, out of the In Excess mare Wilshe Amaze, was bred by Gregg Anderson, is owned by Tom Sanford and trainer Bill Spawr with Mike Smith in the saddle.

He has 12 wins in 28 starts, earnings of $1,920,378 and is coming off a fourth to winner Coil in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Oct. 6. Amazombie won this race last year at Churchill Downs.

The race is scheduled to be run at 3:58 p.m. (PT).
