ALBANY, Calif. (June 19, 2017) – Walk On Water was the fourth winning graduate of the 2016 Northern California Yearling Sale when he won the seventh race at Golden Gate on Sunday, a maiden special weight for 2-year-olds.
The colt by Tannersmyman, out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Smoke Over Water, was bred by Woodridge Farm and Jim Eaton, was consigned to the sale by Woodbridge Farm and is owned by trainer Steven Miyadi, who claimed him from his first start for $25,000.
Walk On Water was purchased at the Northern California Yearling Sale for $5,500 by Ed Moger, Jr., and in two races has won $21,960, plus the $10,000 maiden bonus to the owner. He won in wire-to-wire fashion, running the five furlongs in :58.42 and winning by 2 1/2 lengths at odds of 9-1 in the field of 10.
Walk On Water is the third maiden special weight winner from the 2016 Northern California Yearling Sale.
