Barretts Adds 2-Year-Old Pair

DEL MAR, Calif. (Mar. 21, 2017) — Two high quality two-year-olds have been added to the 28th Annual Barretts Select Two-Year-Old in Training Sale.

Tapit has been the leading sire for each of the last 3 years and currently commands the highest stud fee of any stallion in North America.  Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables has an extremely well-bred son of Tapit who is the first foal of the Grade 1 winner Lady of Fifty.  Named Fiftyshadesoftapit, this colt sells as Hip 135.

Stay Thirsty, a multiple Grade 1 winning son of major sire Bernardini, is currently the second leading second crop sire in North America in 2017.  Clovis Crane’s Crane Thoroughbred Services has a filly who is the second foal of the young War Front mare Social Amber.  Named Osteria, this filly sells as Hip 104.

 This auction will be held on Wednesday, March 29 in the Surfside Raceplace located on the grounds of Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, California beginning at 2:00 p.m. PDT.   The entire catalog can be viewed here.
