DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2015) – Grade I winner Big Macher and fellow California-bred stakes winner Spirit Rules are entered in Monday’s $80,000 Pirate’s Bounty Stakes at Del Mar.
Big Macher is by Beau Genius, out of the Kris S. mare Insight, was bred by Ballena Vista Farm, is owned by Tom Mansor and Tachycardia Stables and is trained by Richard Baltas. He has six wins in 16 starts, earnings of $617,678 and is making his first start since finishing fifth in the Mar. 28 Dubai Golden Shaheen.
Spirit Rules is by Tribal Rule, out of the Danzatore mare Heavenly Lady, was bred by John and Allegra Ernst, is owned by Barbara Accardy, Craig Seidler, Mark Xitco, Jim Xitco and Lisa Aguirre and is trained by Paul Aguirre. He has six win sin 21 starts, earnings of $430,468 and is coming off a win in an Aug. 16 optional claimer.
