Black Seventeen Has First Winner

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 9, 2015) – California stallion Black Seventeen was represented by his first winner when Thor’s Champion won Sunday’s fifth race at Santa Rosa, a maiden claimer.

Thor’s Champion is out of the Wised Up mare Thunder and Ice and was bred by owners Zuer Racing, John Cadman, Michael Timchenko and John Shehane.

The 3-year-old gelding, trained by William Delia and ridden by Russell Baze, ran the six furlongs in 1:13.11 and won by three lengths as the 2-1 favorite.

Black Seventeen is a multiple Grade I winner out of Is It True.
