Sircat Sally 2017 Cal-bred Horse of the Year

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2018) – Multiple graded stakes winner Sircat Sally was named 2017 California-bred Horse of the Year at Monday night’s California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner at Santa Anita Park.
Sircat Sally was retired after winning seven of eight races and $552,860 in purses. Five of her wins came in 2017, including the Grade II Honeymoon Stakes and Grade III Senorita and Providencia Stakes. In her last career start, she finished third in the Grade II San Clemente Handicap.
Sircat Sally is by Surf Cat, out of the In Excess mare Sister Sally, was bred by owner Joe Turner and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. Sircat Sally also is the champion Cal-bred 3-year-old female.
The other finalists for Horse of the Year were Ashleyluvssugar and Skye Diamonds.
