ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2012) – Former Grade I winner M One Rifle and comebacking fellow California-bred Dewey’s Special are entered in Saturday’s $150,000 Grade II Arcadia Stakes at Santa Anita.
M One Rifle is by One Man Army, out of the Bertrando mare Leanessa, was bred by owners Ed Bernstein, Bryan Greenspun, Bruce Headley and Irwin Molasky and is trained by Headley. He has five wins in 18 starts, earnings of $518,002 and is coming off a fifth in the Jan. 21 Palos Verdes. He is trying turf and two turns for the first time.
Dewey’s Special is by Skimming, out of the Prized mare Shewalksinbeauty, was bred by Cardiff Farm Management, is owned by Moore Racing and trained by Jeff Mullins. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $271,484 and is making his first start since an optional claiming win 22 months ago.
