Cal-bred Quartet in Alcatraz Stakes

ALBANY, Calif. (May 16, 2019) – A quartet of California-breds are entered in Sunday’s $75,000 Alcatraz Stakes for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Rey Coliman is by Fort Larned, out of the Singing Saint mare Heavenly Dream, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Ruben Arechiga or Felix Rondan and is trained by Rondan. The $1,700 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has one win in 11 starts, earnings of $58,138 and is coming off a seventh in the Apr. 27 California Derby.

Our Silver Oak is by Unusual Heat, out of the Alphabet Soup mare Strawberry Flash, was bred by M. Auerbach, is owned by Robert Jones, Michael Nentwig or Ray Pagano and is trained by Jonathan Wong. He has one win in 10 starts, earnings of $114,694 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 28 Silky Sullivan.

Loud Mouth is by Boisterous, out of the Tale of the Cat mare Drama Cat, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $93,347 and is coming off a back-to-back optional claimer wins.

Nizamcarchy is by Decarchy, out of the Stormin Fever mare Nizam, was bred by Samantha and William Martin, is owned by Napoleon Lopez and trained by Tirso Rivera. He has one win in five starts, earnings of $31,260 and is coming off a fifth in a March 31 maiden race.
