Cal-bred Trio in Mizdirection

ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 19, 2017) – California-breds Desert Steel, Coniah and Smoove It are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Mizdirection Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Desert Steel is by Desert Code, out of the Cozzene mare Lujien Lujien, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Alice Bamford, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Michael House and is trained by Simon Callaghan. She has four wins in 17 starts, earnings of $292,779 and is coming off a second in the Mar. 18 Irish O’Brien.

Coniah is by Harlington, out of the Lord At War mare Pretti Woman, was bred by owners James and Tammy McKenney and is trained by William Morey. She has three wins in 16 starts, earnings of $159,365 and is coming off a fourth in the Mar. 18 Camilla Urso.

Smoove It is by Square Eddie, out of the Distorted Humor mare Smoove, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has five wins in 29 starts, earnings of $383,265 and is coming off a fourth in the Mar. 18 Irish O’Brien.
