Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies Draws Eight

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2010) – Swiss Wild Cat is the lone multiple winner among eight entries in Saturday’s $75,000 Robert H. Walter California Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Oak Tree at Hollywood Park.

Warren’s Idol is by Stormed, out of the Bertrando mare Lo Bobs First, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and trained by Jorge Gutierrez. She is coming off a maiden win Sept. 17 in her third start with earnings of $13,600.

Excellent Point is by Point Given, out of the Broad Brush mare Classie Girl, was bred by Hidden Meadow Farm and is owned by trainer Clifford Sise. She is coming off a maiden win in her second start Sept. 18 with earnings of $11,040.

Warren’s Flyer is by Doc Gus, out of the French Sassafras mare Perilous Flyer, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and trained by Jorge Gutierrez. She has one win in four starts, earnings of $30,600 and is coming off a second in an Oct. 10 allowance.

Queenie Marini is by Marino Marini, out of the Unusual Heat mare Thermal Ablasion, was bred by Rancho San Miguel, is owned by Arnold Zetcher and trained by Bob Baffert. The $22,000 Barretts purchase is coming off a maiden win in her fourth start Oct. 9 with earnings of $15,800.

Arta B Tappin is by Tapit, out of the Opening Verse mare Arta, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovingier, Jose Arrelano, Patsy London and Templeton Horses and trained by Walther Solis. The $75,000 Barretts purchase is a maiden making her 11th start with earnings of $35,074.

California Nectar is by Stormy Atlantic, out of the Carson City mare Absolute Nectar, was bred by Pablo and Michelle Suarez, is owned by Suarez Racing and trained by Doug O’Neill. She is coming off a maiden win in her third start Oct. 3 with earnings of $42,800.

Swiss Wild Cat is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare I Can Yodele, was bred by owner Heinz Steinmann and trained by Mike Harrington. She has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $144,552 and is coming off a third in an Oct. 7 allowance.

Table for One is by Rio Verde, out of the Skip Trial mare Securitized Debt, was bred by Tery Lovingier, is owned by Gene Aversa Jr., Philip Daniels, Rick Starr et al and trained by Gary Sherlock. She has one win in seven starts, earnings of $26,460 and is coming off a fourth in an Oct. 15 starter’s allowance.
