Cal-sired Mares Sell Well at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2016) – A trio of California-sired mares were six-figure purchases at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Journey On, a stakes-placed California-bred mare, was sold for $240,000 at Friday’s session. Journey On, by Good Journey, was purchased by California Chrome/KatieRich Farms, in foal to Candy Ride, to be bred to champion Cal-bred California Chrome. She was consigned by James Keough.

Somethinaboutlaura, a California-bred millionaire and multiple Grade II winner, sold at Thursday’s session for $150,000. Somethinaboutlaura, by Dance Floor, was consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent, and was purchased by
Calumet Farm in foal to Candy Ride.

Grade II winner Ciao Bella Luna, out of the California stallion Tribal Rule, sold for $450,000 at Thursday’s session. Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent, Ciao Bella Luna was purchased by Clarkland Farm in foal to Pioneerof the Nile.
