Cheekaboo, How Unusual in Oaks

                ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 28, 2016) – Graded winner Cheekaboo and How Unusual, California-bred daughters of Unusual Heat, are entered in Friday’s $300,000 Grade I American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

                How Unusual is by Unusual Heat, out of the Bartok mare Veela, was bred by Madeline Auerbach and Barry Abrams, is owned by Fetkin, Sil or St. Hillaire, et al, and is trained by Michael Pender. She has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $155,297 and is coming off an Oct. 2 optional claimer win.

                Grade II winner Cheekaboo is by Unusual Heat, out of the Souvenir Copy mare Sandy Cheeks, was bred by Madeline Auerbach, Richard Rosenberg & Barry Abrams, is owned by Alesia, Burns or Ciaglia Racing and is trained by Peter Eurton. She has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $298,810 and is coming off an eighth in the Oct. 21 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes.
