Chokecherymary Rallies in Valentine Dancer

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2012) – Longshot Chokecherymary closed boldly through the stretch to win Saturday’s $100,000 Valentine Dancer Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Chokecherymary is by Capsized, out of the Gilded Time mare Sassy Rhythm, was bred by BnD Thoroughbreds, is owned by Steve and Sue Wasko and trained by Gary Mandella.

She has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $172,478 and was coming off a second in the Dec. 11 Cat’s Cradle.

She ran the mile on turf in 1:34.42 and won by one-half length at odds of 8-1. California Nectar was second and Secret Cove third in the field of seven.
