PASADENA, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2015) — Eclipse Award Horse of the Year California Chrome was officially named California-bred Horse of the Year for 2014 at Monday night’s annual California Thoroughbred Breeders Association awards dinner at the Pasadena Westin.
California Chrome, who distanced Alert Bay and Big Macher in the voting, earlier was named California-bred champion 3-year-old and Turf champion. California Chrome was bred by owners Perry Martin & Steve Coburn.

Champion Sire of California Conceived Foals by Earnings – Lucky Pulpit, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams.
Champion Sire of California Conceived Foals by Turf Earnings – Unusual Heat, owned by the Unusual Heat Syndicate.
Champion Sire of California Conceived Two-Year-Olds by Earnings – Papa Clem, property of a syndicate.
Champion Sire of California Conceived Foals by Number of Winners – Tribal Rule.
Champion Breeders of California Foaled Thoroughbreds by Earnings – Perry Martin & Steve Coburn.
Trainer of the Year – Art Sherman.
Broodmare of the Year – Love the Chase, owned by Perry Martin & Steve Coburn.
Champion California-bred Two-Year-Old Female – My Fiona, bred by Terry Lovingier.
Champion California-bred Two-Year-Old Male – Acceptance, bred by Old English Rancho.
Champion California-bred Three-Year-Old Female – Rovenna, bred by Donald Dizney.
Champion California-bred Three-Year-Old Male – California Chrome, bred by Perry Martin & Steve Coburn.
Champion California-bred Older Male – Big Macher, bred by Ballena Vista Farm.
California-bred Older Female – Top Kisser, bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds.
