INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 20, 2011) – A contentious field of 10 California-bred 3-year-old fillies entered in Saturday’s $125,000 Melair Stakes on the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Irenes Jackpot is by Jackpot, out of the Gold Legend mare Irene, was bred by Vessels Stallion Farm, is owned by Bill Dory and trained by Robertino Diodoro. She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $29,740 and is coming off a win in the Mar. 29 Scottsdale Handicap.

Frigid Bridget is by Nucay, out of the Mining mare Colba, was bred by Dr. Carlos Vega, is owned by Neil O’Shea and Judi Partridge and trained by Dan Hendricks. She has one win in five starts, earnings of $46,200 and is coming off a fifth in a Mar. 23 allowance.

Warren’s Flyer is by Doc Gus, out of the French Sassafras mare Perilous Flyer, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and trained by Jorge Gutierrez. She has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $99,200 and is coming off a Feb. 18 optional claimer win.
