Enriched, Unusual Suspect the Class in Classic

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2010) – Stakes winners Enriched and Unusual Suspect are likely to duel in Saturday’s $150,000 California Cup Classic Stakes, presented by City National Bank, at Oak Tree at Hollywood Park.

Unusual Suspect is by Unusual Heat, out of the Crested Wave mare Penpont, was bred by David Abrams, is owned by Barry, David and Dyan Abrams and trained by Barry Abrams. He has eight wins in 53 starts, earnings of $855,171 and is coming off a sixth in the Oct. 3 Clement Hirsch. He has a sixth, a fifth and a win in the last three Cal Cup Miles at Santa Anita but has a current 15-race losing streak.

Enriched is by High Brite, out of the Nostalgia’s Star mare Li’l Ms. Leonard, was bred by Carol Lingenfelter, is owned by W. C. Racing, Westside Rentals.com and Neil Haymes and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has seven wins in 22 starts, earnings of $512,656 and is coming off a fifth in the Oct. 9 Shadwell Turf Mile. He was third in last year’s Cal Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

Mobilized is by Soul of the Matter, out of the Red Ransom mare Valleyofthebells, was bred by Robert Reseigne, is owned by Double JH Stables and the Estate of Robert Reseigne and trained by Gary Mandella. He has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $146,162 and is coming off a fourth in a Sept. 5 optional claimer.
