Five Cal-breds in Governor’s Cup

POMONA, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2012) – Multiple stakes winner Ain’t No Other leads five California-breds in Wednesday’s $50,000 Governor’s Cup Handicap at Fairplex Park.

Legal Separation is by Jackpot, out of the Storm Bird mare Stormy Divorce, was bred by Vessels Stallion Farm, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and trained by Ed Moger Jr. He has five wins in 28 starts, earnings of $226,748 and is coming off an Aug. 22 claiming win. He was fifth in this race last year.

Charlie’sboywins is by Fruition, out of the Ole mare Spanish Gypsy, was bred by owners William and Nancy Gregory and trained by William Gregory. He has three wins in 17 starts, earnings of $67,086 and is coming off a fourth in a July 15 optional claimer.

L.A. Weekend is by Tribal Rule, out of the Avenue of Flags mare Storybook Fair, was bred by Dennis Johnston, is owned by Simon Hudy and trained by Robertino Diodoro. He has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $159,606 and is coming off a Sept. 8 optional claiming win.

Ain’t No Other is by Old Topper, out of the Shadeed mare Miami Margie, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trained by Steve Miyadi. He has six wins in 17 starts, earnings of $277,173 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 5 Jess Jackson.

Candy’s Sunrise is by Marino Marini, out of the Seattle Bound mare Candy Factory, was bred by Dahlberg Farms, is owned by S.A.Y. Racing and trained by Leandro Mora. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $57,350 and is coming off consecutive wins.
