Five Cal-breds in Barretts Debutante

CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2017) – Five California-breds are among entries for Saturday’s $100,000 Barretts Debutante for 2-year-old fillies at Los Alamitos.

Ismelucky is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Tribal Rule mare Ismene, was bred by Stephen Ferraro, is owned by Bonde or Russell and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $52,920 and is making her first start since a May 18 maiden win.

Funny Bean is by Square Eddie, out of the Sharp Humor mare Funny Belle, was bred by Dennis Miller, is owned by Robert & Luanne Bean and is trained by Robert Bean. She is a maiden making her second start with earnings of $5,400.

Helen’s Tiger is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Indian Charlie mare Ann’s Intuition, was bred by Rozamund Barclay, is owned by Nice Guys Stable or Oringer and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She is a maiden making her fourth start with earnings of $11,700.

Expendy is by The Pamplemousse, out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Expense, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Lewis Ekstrom and trained by Jose Hernandez, Jr. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $13,350 and is coming off a Sept. 10 maiden win.

My Claw is by Pioneerof the Nile, out of the Katowice mare Enumclaw Girl, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Bade Beng Racing, Flores or Lovingier and is trained by Gary Sherlock. She is a maiden making her third start with earnings of $8,400.
