DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2015) – Multiple graded winner Gimme Da Lute and fellow California-bred Rocko’s Wheel in Saturday’s $100,000 El Cajon Stakes for 3-year-olds at Del Mar.
Gimme Da Lute is by Midnight Lute, out of the Proud Citizen mare Casino Gold, was bred by owners Pegram, Watson and Weitman and is trained by Bob Baffert. He has five wins in eight starts, earnings of $567,560 and is coming off a win in the Aug. 2 Real Good Deal.
Rocko’s Wheel is by Grazen, out of the Double Honor mare Honored Gold, was bred by Jimmy Ukegawa and Mike Mitchell, is owned by Little Red Feather Racing and Ukegawa and is trained by Philip D’Amato. He has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $156,030 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 2 Real Good Deal.
