POMONA, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2012) – Going for a Spin took over inside the eighth pole and edged away to win Saturday’s $50,000 E.B. Johnston Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares at Fairplex Park.
Going for a Spin is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Mr. Greeley mare Gender Motors, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and Tommy Town Thoroughbreds.
She has five wins in 23 starts, earnings of $239,952 and was coming off a fifth in the July 29 Luther Burbank. She ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.08 and won by a length at odds of 8-5. Logical Single was second and Party With Brando third in the field of five.
