Golden Eagle Partial Dispersal

From Barretts

DEL MAR, Calif. (May 20, 2015) — In 1957, John Mabee bought his first two horses for $6,000 at a yearling sale conducted at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club where he would later become president, board chairman and spearhead for a $80 million rebuilding in the 1990’s. He directed the same passion and determination to the Thoroughbred breeding industry, transforming an undeveloped plot of land in Ramona to the world-renowned Golden Eagle Farm. In 1991, 1997 and 1998, John and Betty Mabee earned Eclipse Awards as the nation’s leading breeders, reigned as  North America’s leading owner and breeder by money won in 1992 and topped the California breeders’ earnings list for 19 consecutive years.  Golden Eagle Farm developed a reputation of developing broodmare families that were both deep and rich in quality.
