WARNER SPRINGS, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2015) — Govenor Charlie, a graded stakes-winning son of Midnight Lute, will stand the 2016 breeding season at Lovacres Ranch for a $3,000 fee.
Govenor Charlie is a 5-year-old out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Silverbulletway, daughter of Hall of Famer Silverbulletday.
On the track, Govenor Charlie won the Grade III Sunland Derby by five lengths in what at the time was a track-record 1:47.54 for 1 1/8 miles. He also finished second in the Grade II Strube Stakes and earned $506,294 in purses.
“He is a great horse with a great pedigree,” said his trainer, Bob Baffert, who also trained the dam.
