Halo Dolly Repeats in Solana Beach

DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2012) – Halo Dolly successfully defended her title in Sunday’s $100,000 Solana Beach Handicap for California-bred or –sired fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Halo Dolly is by Popular, out of the Comic Strip mare Spanish Halo, was bred by Rod and Lorraine Rodriguez, is owned by Blackmore, Hoefflin, Hoefflin, Hollendorfer et al and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer.

She has 12 wins in 21 starts, earnings of $416,396 and was coming off a third in the July 21 Osunitas. She won this race last year.

Halo Dolly ran the mile on turf in 1:34.43 at odds of 3-1. Unusual Hottie was second and Sparkling Style third.
