ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2012) – California-bred Hazardous drew post position No. 6 in a seven-horse field for Friday’s $500,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint for 2-year-olds at Santa Anita.
Hazardous is going from the claiming ranks into the $500,000 Juvenile Sprint. He is by Candy Ride, out of the Malek mare Malley Girl, was bred by Nick Alexander, is owned by Vegas Racing Team, trained by Carl O’Callaghan and will be ridden by Edwin Maldonado. He was claimed Sept. 15 for $16,000.
He has two wins in three starts, earnings of $24,380 and is coming off a 13 ¼ -length win in a $25,000 claimer Oct. 14 at Santa Anita. He broke his maiden in an Aug. 25 $12,500 maiden claimer at Golden Gate.
The race is scheduled to be run at 1:06 p.m. (PT).
