Strike the Tiger Returns in Dania
HALLANDALE, Fla. (Jan. 13, 2010) -- Strike the Tiger is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday�s $100,000 Dania Stakes for 3-year-olds at one mile on the Gulfstream Park turf course.
Strike the Tiger is by Tiger Ridge, out of the In Excess mare R Lucky Strike, was bred by Wesley Ward, Mitchell Dutko & Ray Sainz, was foaled at River Edge Farm, is owned by Dutko and Sainz and trained by Ward.
He has three wins in four starts, earnings of $95,913 and is making his first start since finishing seventh in the Sept. 9 Cradle Stakes. Last summer he won the Windsor Castle Stakes, becoming the first American-trained horse to win a race at the Royal Ascot Meeting and only the third American-trained horse to win a flat race in Europe in history.
