Sunshine Millions Noms Close Jan. 16

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2010) -- Regular nominations for the $1.8 million Sunshine Millions VIII for California-breds and Florida-breds close Saturday, Jan. 16.

The fee for regular nominations is $500 per entry. Pre-entries will be taken Wednesday, Jan. 20. The post-position draw will be Monday, Jan. 25 for the six-race event that will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park.

The following races will be run at Santa Anita: $500,000 Sunshine Millions Classic, 1 1/8 miles, 4 & up; $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf, 1 1/8 miles (Turf), fillies and mares, 4 & up; $200,000 Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Sprint, six furlongs, fillies and mares, 4 & up.

The following races will be run at Gulfstream Park: $300,000 Sunshine Millions Turf, 1 1/8 miles (Turf), 4 & up; $300,000 Sunshine Millions Distaff, 1 1/8 miles, fillies and mares, 4 & up; $200,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint, six furlongs, 4 & up.
