ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2017) — Multiple graded stakes winner Masochistic has returned to training after getting a well-deserved summer break.
The Daily Racing Form reports that the 7-year-old gelding was transferred from trainer Ron Ellis to Bob Baffert. The Hall of Fame trainer told the DRF that Masochistic was currently at Los Alamitos, and would be sent to Santa Anita in the near future.
Masochistic has not raced since finishing off the board in the G2 Churchill Downs Stakes May 6. Afterwards, he was given a break and sent to Taylor Made Farm.
Masochistic finished second in the 2016 G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint, but was later disqualified after his bloodwork showed the presence of a banned steroid.
Masochistic has won eight of 16 starts and has earnings of $857,550.
