Miss Sunset Seeks Another Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 11, 2017) – Miss Sunset, with stakes wins in three of her last four starts, is entered in Sunday’s $100,000 California Distaff for Golden State Series eligible fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Bad Ju Ju is by Desert Code, out of the Snow Ridge mare Ju Ju Baby, was bred by Lo Hi Racing Stable, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and trained by Peter Miller. She has seven wins in 21 starts, earnings of $348,063 and is coming off a fourth in the Oct. 8 L.A. Woman.

Late ‘n Left is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Grand Slam mare Royal Grand Slam, was bred by Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams, is owned by Zolotas, Romo-Zolotas or Hamilton and is trained by Anthony Saavedra. She has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $150,210 and is coming off a second in a Sept. 16 optional claimer.

Barbara Beatrice is by Grazen, out of the Decarchy mare Showtime Apollo, was bred by Phil D’Amato, is owned by D’Amato or Queen Bee Racing and is trained by D’Amato. She has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $229,534 and is making her first start sinc a fifth in the Dec. 3, 2016 Bayakoa.

Long Hot Summer is by Street Boss, out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Hotlantic, was bred by Harris Farms & Donald Valpredo, is owned by Fanticola or Scardino and is trained by Phil D’Amato. She has six wins in 17 starts, earnings of $409,539 and is coming off a fifth in an Aug. 31 optional claimer. She was fifth in this race last year.

Miss Sunset is by Into Mischief, out of the Trippi mare Tuscan Sunset, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds & Alan Klein, is owned by Klein or Lebherz and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has six wins in 10 starts, earnings of $450,390 and is coming off consecutive stakes wins.

Run for Retts is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Jump Start mare Mrs. Began, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Steve Miyadi. She has three wins in 22 starts, earnings of $215,334 and is coming off a fourth in an Aug. 17 optional claimer.
