PHOENIX – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate My Friend Emma is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Phoenix Gold Cup at Turf Paradise.
My Friend Emma is by Tannersmyman, out of the Artax mare Ma Ka Bet, was bred by Jim Eaton, is owned by Candelario Barragan or Joselyn Robles and is trained by Mark Hall.
The $1,000 purchase from the Northern California Yearling Sale has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $158,794 and is coming off a seventh in a Jan. 7 allowance, his first race in 16 months.
