NorCal Grads in Wine Country Stakes

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (July 29, 2015) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduates Deb’s Wildcard, Heat Me and Allthatnmore, as well as California-bred Princess Bertrando, are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Wine Country Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Rosa.

Deb’s Wildcard is by Desert Code, out of the Demons Begone mare Deb’s Royal Flush, was bred by Victoria Polzin and Harris Farms, is owned by Robert Jones and Lloyd Mason and is trained by Mason. The Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $121,724 and is coming off a third in the June 21 Pleasanton Oaks.

Heat Me is by Heatseeker, out of the Muqtarib mare Sweet Muqtarib, was bred by William DeBurgh, Richard Schatz & Jack Preston, is owned by Donald Bartlett and Jennifer Hogue and is trained by Jerry Puertas. The $12,000 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase won her lone start with earnings of $4,400.

Princess Bertrando is by Bertrando, out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Causeway R. N., was bred by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, is owned by Lebherz, Mariani and the Schmitts and is trained by Jeff Bonde. He has two wins in 14 starts, earnings of $165,306 and is coming off a fourth in the July 11 Governor’s Cup.

Allthatnmore, a Kentucky-bred, was a $12,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale.
