NorCal Grad Wins Futurity

PLEASANTON, Calif. (July 9, 2011) – Northern California Yearling Sales graduate Sherman Bartlebort won his second consecutive race Saturday, beating odds-on favorite Galex in the $62,010 Everett Nevin Alameda County Futurity for 2-year-olds at Pleasanton.

Sherman Bartlebort is by Tannersmyman, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Alpenwald, was bred by Woodbridge Farm and James Eaton, is owned by Eaton, Peter Finch, R.B. Hess and David Perea and is trained by Hess.

The $6,500 Northern California Yearling Sales purchase was coming off a maiden win June 10 in his second start and now has earnings of $69,970.

He ran the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:03.31 and won by 2 1/4 lengths at odds of 7-2.
