SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 11, 2016) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Shari and fellow California-breds Only You Babe and Little Hawk are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Wine Country Debutante for 2-year-old fillies at Santa Rosa.
Only You Babe is by Thorn Song, out of the Johannesburg mare Book’em Babe, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steve Specht. She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $74,600 and is coming off a win in the July 2 Juan Gonzalez Memorial.
Shari is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Tabasco Cat mare Shahalie Lake, was bred by Ed Moger Jr. and Patrick Neary, is owned by Robert Jones and trained by Faith Taylor. The $20,000 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has one win in two starts, earnings of $23,556 and is coming off a July 1 maiden win.
Little Hawk is by Marino Marini, out of the Salt Lake mare Bodacious Bertha, was bred by Matk Tatch, is owned by Alameda, Gonzalez, Kitchen or Perry and is trained by Reina Gonzalez. She is a maiden making her third start with earnings of $4,125.
