NorCal Sale Pair Win at Golden Gate

ALBANY, Calif. (Aug. 30, 2014) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduates won a pair of 2-year-old maiden special weight races at Golden Gate on Saturday.

Deb’s Wildcard, a $17,500 purchase, won the seventh race for fillies and Lucky Forty Niner, a $1,700 purchase, won the ninth race open to all 2-year-olds.

Deb’s Wildcard is by Desert Code, out of the Demons Begone mare Deb’s Royal Flush, was bred by Victoria Polzin & Harris Farms, is owned by Robert Jones & Lloyd Mason and is trained by Mason. This was her debut and she ran the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:04.26, winning by 2 ¼ lengths at odds of 5-1.

Lucky Forty Niner is by Lucky J. H., out of the Forty Niner mare Miner’s Gal, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Mary Jo Bright and trained by Wendell McDaniel. This was his second start and he ran the five furlongs in :59.20, winning by 1 ¼ lengths at odds of 18-1.
