NorCal Sales Grad Wins at Golden Gate

ALBANY, Calif. (June 14, 2011) – Sherman Bartlebort, a graduate of last year’s Northern California Yearling Sale, won a maiden special weight race at Golden Gate last week in his second career start.

This year’s Northern California Yearling Sale will be held Tuesday, August 16, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, and will also be open to horses of racing age. The closing date for entries is June 15.

Consigned by Woodbridge Farm, agent, and bred by Woodbridge Farm and James Eaton, Sherman Bartlebort is a 2-year-old son of Tannersmyman, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Alpenwald. He sold for $6,500 at last year’s Northern California Yearling Sale.

He is owned by James Eaton, Peter Finch, R.B. Hess and David Perez and trained by Hess.

Sherman Bartlebort earned a purse of $21,840, plus a $10,000 Cal-bred maiden bonus.
