SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (Dec. 6, 2014) – California-bred Omar held off the fast-closing Wine Police to win Saturday’s $50,000 KLAQ Handicap at Sunland Park.
Omar is by Bertrando, out of the Beau Genius mare Perfect Doll, was bred by Omar Aldabbagh, is owned by Randy Exelby, Running Rabbit, rick and TG Racing and is trained by Robertino Diodoro.
He has eight wins in 22 starts, earnings of $137,487 and was coming off a win in the Nov. 15 Caballos Del Sol Stakes.
Omar ran the five furlongs in :56.23 and won by a neck at odds of 4-1 in the field of six.
