Only You Babe in Cal-bred Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2016) – Multiple stakes winner Only You Babe and fellow California-bred stakes winner You’re Late are entered in Friday’s $200,000 Golden State Juvenile Fillies Stakes for Golden State Series eligible 2-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

Cash Prize is by Pure Prize, out of the Benchmark mare Cottonwood Babe, was bred by owners Dr. William and Jill Gray and trained by Brian Koriner. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $30,180 and is coming off a fourth in an Oct. 6 optional claimer.

How About Zero is by Square Eddie, out of the In Excess mare Too Much Excess, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and trained by Doug O’Neill. She is a maiden making her third start with earnings of $38,900.

Isa Firecracker is by Heatseeker, out of the Tannersmyman mare Caroline Elena, was bred by owner Myles McMahon and trained by Jamey Thomas. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $30,880 and is coming off a second in an Oct. 6 optional claimer.

Only You Babe is by Thorn Song, out of the Johannesburg mare Book’ em Babe, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and trained by Steve Specht. She has three wins in six starts, earnings of $123,400 and is coming off a third in the Oct. 1 Oak Tree Stakes.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Rocketann is by Sierra Sunset, out of the Indian Charlie mare Ann’s Intuition, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds, is owned by Jack Tone Ranch and trained by Marcia Stortz. The $2,500 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase is a maiden making her fifth start with earnings of $35,900.

R Sunday Surprise is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Not For Love mare Love the Chase, was bred by Perry Martin and Steve Coburn, is owned by Silver State Racing, Goldwin or Melton, et al and trained by Doug O’Neill.  She is a maiden making her fifth start with earnings of $15,525.

Start to Finish is by Good Journey, out of the Awesome Again mare ultra Awesome, was bred by owner Via Encanto Farms and trained by Jorge Periban. She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $63,480 and is coming off a third in an Oct. 6 optional claimer.
