Red Sun Game in Lure Win

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2012) – California-bred Red Sun, caught by favorite Ryehill Dreamer in midstretch, re-rallied for a game win in Sunday’s $80,760 Lure Stakes at Santa Anita.

Red Sun is by Redattore, out of the Affirmed mare Sunny Sara, was bred by owner Harris Farms and trained by Carla Gaines.

“He was so game through the lane; I’m so impressed. I was screaming my guts out,” said Gaines. I expected him to be in front. I was worried for the last quarter of a mile, but he’s always tenacious on the lead. He’s always been a very, very nice horse. He just had his problems along the way so it is very rewarding that he gets it done today.”

Red Sun has six wins in 11 starts, earnings of $280,188 and was coming off a ninth in the Sept. 28 Eddie D Stakes.
