Richard’s Boy Back in California

DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2017) – Five-time stakes winner Richard’s Boy returns to his home state and is one of five California-breds among the entries in Friday’s $75,000 Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar.

Gutsy Ruler is by Tribal Rule, out of the Najran mare Gutsy Lady, was bred by Roy Tyra, is owned by Hugo Catalan and trained by Javier Sierra. He has five wins in 32 starts, earnings of $297,503 and is coming off an Aug. 6 optional claiming win.

Tribalist is by Tribal Rule, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Ultimate Summer, was bred by Dutko & Abrams, is owned by Abrams, Dutko or Paran and is trained by Blake Heap. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $159,100 and is coming off three consecutive wins.

Richard’s Boy is by Idiot Proof, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Marissa’s Joy, was bred by Harold and Pamela Tillema, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and trained by Peter Miller. He has 10 wins in 24 starts, earnings of $759,680 and is coming off a sixth in the July 8 Parx Dash. His last four races were outside of California, including the Mar. 25 Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai, where he finished fifth.

Jimmy Bouncer is by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by Reddam Racing, is owned by Pender Racing or Dunbar and is trained by Michael Pender.

K Thirty Eight is by Surf Cat, out of the Corwyn Bay mare Butterfly Kiss, was bred by Old English Rancho and Headley, is owned by The Ellwood Johnston Trust or Matson Racing and is trained by Karen Headley.
