Santa Anita Promotes Low Takeout

ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2015)–Santa Anita Park’s 19-day Autumn Meet, which opens with five Grade I, Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win & You’re In” prep stakes on Saturday, Sept. 26, will again offer fans a comprehensive pari-mutuel betting menu that features the nation’s lowest win, place and show takeout of only 15.43 percent as well as the 50 cent Pick 5, which covers the first five races each day.

First post time each day will be at 1 p.m., with the exception of opening day, which will kick off at 12:30 p.m. in order to facilitate a blockbuster 11-race program. (Admission gates will open at 10:30 a.m. on opening day and at 11 a.m. on all other racing days).

Santa Anita’s 2015 Autumn Meet Wagering Menu will offer the following:

–The 50 cent Player’s Pick 5. Comprised of races one through five, the Pick Five features a low takeout of 14 percent. If no one correctly selects all five winners, 100 percent of the net pool is carried over to the next racing day.

                –Two dollar Win, Place & Show wagering on each race, featuring the lowest takeout (15.43 percent) of any major track in the nation.

                –One Dollar Trifectas will be offered on each race, with a minimum of four runners required.

                –Ten Cent Superfectas will be offered on all races with a minimum of six horses scheduled to start.

                –One Dollar Exactas are offered on each race.

                –The Two Dollar Pick Six will be offered on the final six races each day. With the exception of closing day, if no one correctly tabs six winners, 70 percent of the net pool is carried over to the next race day while 30 percent of the pool goes to consolation payouts.

                –The 50 Cent Early Pick Four will cover four races, beginning with race two. The Late Pick Four will cover the final four races each day.

                –One Dollar rolling Pick Threes will be offered beginning with the first race.

                –The One Dollar Super High Five, which requires bettors to tab the first five finishers in each day’s final race (minimum of eight runners) will again be offered. If no one selects the top five finishers in exact order, 100 percent of the net pool carries over to the next day.
