Sharkzilla Hunts for Seattle Slew

AUBURN, Wash. (June 29, 2017) – Stakes winner Sharkzilla and fellow California-breds More Power to Him and Marquee Marini are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Seattle Slew Stakes for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Emerald Downs.

Sharkzilla is by Distorted Reality, out of the Moscow Ballet mare Blue Ice Shark, was bred by Roger Downes, is owned by John Parker and trained by Candi Tollet. He has two wins in eight starts, earnings of $77,634 and is coming off a third in the June 4 Coca Cola Stakes.

More Power to Him is by Slew’s Tiznow, out of the Beau Genius mare Pundit, was bred by owner Brett Mason and is trained by Faith Taylor. He has three wins in 11 starts, earnings of $160,653 and is coming off a fifth in the May 29 Snow Chief Stakes.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Marquee Marini is by Marino Marini, out of the Marquetry mare Angie’s Marquee, was bred by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, is owned by John Parker and trained by Candi Tollett. The $11,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has two wins in 16 starts, earnings of $19,385 and is coming off a fifth in a June 25 claimer.
