Snow Chief Draws Alphie’s Bet

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 21, 2010) – Sham Stakes winner Alphie’s Bet is the lone stakes winner entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Snow Chief Stakes for 3-year-olds, the feature race on the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Unbeaten Self Made is by Old Topper, out of the Mr. Greeley mare Gender Motors, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by John Sadler. He’s won both starts, earnings of $55,200 and is coming off an Apr. 1 allowance win.

Alphie’s Bet is by Tribal Rule, out of the Candi’s Gold mare Miss Alphie, was bred by Teresa McWilliams, is owned by McWilliams and Peter Johnson Sr. and trained by Alexis Barba. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $141,320 and is coming off a sixth in the Apr. 3 Santa Anita Derby.
