DEL MAR, Calif. (July 21, 2014) — Stakes winner Soi Phet is the lone California-bred Friday’s $100,000 Grade III Cougar II Stakes at 1 1/2 miles at Del Mar.
Soi Phet is by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Gerald Benowitz and Sandra Powell and Mathilde and Paul Viskovich and trained by Leonard Powell.
He has seven wins in 27 starts, earnings of $352,436 and is coming off a win in the July 3 Bertrando Stakes at Los Alamitos.
