DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 23, 2017) – Graded winner Solid Wager and fellow California-bred stakes winner Mr. Hinx are entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II Pat O’Brien Stakes at Del Mar.
Solid Wager is by Birdonthewire, out of the Valid Wager mare G Ma, was bred by Madera Thoroughbreds, is owned by Barber, Barber or Stanford Stables and is trained by Peter Miller. He has eight wins in 36 starts, earnings of $537,671 and is coming off a fifth in the July 29 Bing Crosby.
Mr. Hinx is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Put It Back mare Kitten Exchange, was bred by owner Gary Barber and is trained by Steve Miyadi. He has five wins in eight starts, earnings of $326,548 and is coming off a win in the July 28 Real Good Deal.
